in Provence in a few words... |

|
Mediterranean is an historical land for exchanges
and Provence, on its heart, is a meeting and
melting pot territory, the transition between
West and Est.
Over the centuries, merchandises, technics and ideas have been exchanged, contributing
to the development and the cosmopolitan aspect of the region. Interface between
North and South, located in the great markets, Provence is a major center for
Europe and the Mediterranean basin.
Provence have:
- the largest port complex in France and in Southern Europe,
- the second french airport for freight,
- a river port, and dense rail,
- roads and motorways networks.
- dense rail network, the completion of the Mediterranean high speed TGV rail
line, put Marseilles only three hours away from Paris.
First County for its multimodal systems air-road-rail-river-sea, Bouches du
Rhône have developed well located sites to welcome distribution platforms,
including large projects, on naturally flat areas.
Largest concentration of
telecommunications companies in Southern Europe, Provence of new
technologies consolidates this system in bringing
a new dimension to material and immaterial
exchanges.
Specialized sites are also being developed
for logistics related to airports : freight
area of the Marseilles-Provence airport, ports:
Distriport in Fos-sur-Mer and Distrimar in Marseilles,
river-sea transport: river port
of Arles and rail-road : Clesud in Grans Miramas
and Saint Martin de Crau.
The Club Provence Logistique
which is just born symbolises the sector dynamism
in Provence.
Its objectives are to increase exchanges between
logistics actors, contribute to the local development,
provide a technic and economic vigil and to
animate the sector.

of development.

nearly 200 000 m2 built or under construction,
(in particular with programs of investors like
Prologis and Logistis) and there are forecasts
of nearly 250 000 m2 in the next 2 years.
